CastView
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Summary
CastView is an Android app published by MakiSys for browsing web pages and sending their videos to a TV on the same Wi-Fi network. This policy explains what data the app handles.
Data stored by the app
CastView stores your favorite pages, the last TV you used and your preferences only on your phone. This data is not sent to any of our servers. CastView does not keep a browsing history.
Local network
To send a video, CastView looks for TVs on your Wi-Fi network and streams the video from your phone through a temporary server that only works inside your network while you are casting. Page cookies and data are used only to retrieve that video.
Websites you visit
Pages you open in CastView may collect data under their own policies. CastView blocks known ads and pop-ups but does not control third-party content.
Diagnostics and statistics
CastView uses Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics, by Google, to receive crash reports and anonymous usage statistics: phone and TV model, Android version and features used. No information about the pages you visit is sent. This data is used to fix bugs and improve the app, and is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Children
CastView is not directed to children under 13.
